The Whiskey Hill Singers,
I am madly in love with Judy Henske and would highly defend her voice as one of the best of the 60's.
I'd never even heard of The Whiskey Hill Singers featuring her before today, but they've already won my opinion of creating the best promo photoshoot from a band ever, they also, oddly, remind me of a beatnik Daisy Chainsaw.

TUMBLR
Although I have 121 times more followers on tumblr than here (seriously), just felt like posting a link to it, as well as my ~humerous~ tumblr stereotype.

Theremin
The theremin (θɛrəmɪn), is an early electronic musical instrument controlled without discernible physical contact from the player. It is named after its Russian inventor, Professor Léon Theremin, who patented the device in 1928. The controlling section usually consists of two metal antennas which sense the position of the player's hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and amplitude with the other, so it can be played without being touched.

Lydia Kavina, aged 9, with Leon Theremin.
I've been obsessed with the Theremin recently. If I still want one in a years time I can get one for my 19th birthday AWWYEAH.
Anywhoo, enjoy some of my favourite performances.
Clara Rockmore - The Swan
The Delia Derbyshire of theremin
Lydia Kavina - Claire De Lune
'Original Works for the Theremin', 1999, probably the best album using the instrument.

BELA LUGOSI'S DEAD
I thought nobody could cover this track, especially Nouvelle Vague. I remember seeing Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging when I was fourteen and the only part of it that turned up the corners of my mouth was their shit 'Teenage Kicks' cover.
I admit I was sort of chuckling to myself knowing they'd covered this, but gosh I was mistaken, never mind me whilst I press the reply button.
For the fourth time.

It's bittersweet that someone can completlely change your outlook on the world, and just as quickly, change it all back again.
The Old Grey Whistle Test
When I graduate with honours in Music Journalism and the BBC finally realises how dismal the modern music industry has become, they're going to get me to host the re-vamp of this.

"Fairest Cordelia,
"Fairest Cordelia, that art most rich, being poor;
Most choice, forsaken; and most loved, despised!
Thee and thy virtues here I seize upon:
Be it lawful I take up what's cast away.
Gods, gods! 'tis strange that from their cold'st neglect
My love should kindle to inflamed respect.
Thy dowerless daughter, king, thrown to my chance,
Is queen of us, of ours, and our fair France:
Not all the dukes of waterish Burgundy
Can buy this unprized precious maid of me.
Bid them farewell, Cordelia, though unkind:
Thou losest here, a better where to find."The King of France, King Lear
William Shakespeare
